The Mat bar stool with armrests, 65 cm, from Normann Copenhagen This is a fully upholstered bar stool for kitchen counters, islands, or bars. Its hemp shell, beechwood frame, and armrests give it a calm, Scandinavian look.

design & material

The Danish studio Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen designed Mat after years of research as a shell chair made from materials with a lower environmental impact than the industry average, according to the manufacturer. The hemp shell is created using a specially developed compression process, and the frame consists, among other things, of FSC™ certified beech plywood (FSC-C163461). Mat is designed for disassembly and recycling, so the Bauparts can be reused in new productions.

The fully upholstered version is available in Hallingdal 110, Remix 133 or Ultra 41599. With a seat height of 65 cm, the chair fits kitchen counters and islands of around 90 cm in height, and the footrest provides support for your feet.

Place two or three chairs with the same upholstery next to each other for a calming effect. The beech legs harmonize with light wood, and the black footrest complements black details in the room. According to the manufacturer, Mat is suitable for restaurants, hotel lobbies, and living rooms.

Die Mat-Chair-Kollektion umfasst eine Hanfschale, die in einem eigens entwickelten Kompressionsverfahren gefertigt wird. Das Gestell von Mat Chair besteht aus FSC™ zertifiziertem (FSC-C163461) Buchensperrholz und Buchensperrholz aus anderen kontrollierten Quellen oder aus pulverbeschichtetem Stahl in den zwei Farboptionen Cream oder Black. Die Barversionen mit Holzgestell verfügen über einen Fussring aus pulverbeschichtetem Stahl für zusätzlichen Komfort und Stabilität. Die Schale wird aus einer einzigartigen Mischung aus 75% Hanffasern gefertigt, während die restlichen 25% aus einem eigens entwickelten, recycelbaren Bico-Bindemittel bestehen. Die Seaweed-Variante besteht aus 69% Hanffasern, 6% Seegras (Seaweed) und 25% Bindemittel. Bei Rückgabe an Normann Copenhagen am Ende ihrer Lebensdauer können sowohl Schale als auch Gestell recycelt werden.
