The Cairn series by Ferm Living is inspired by cairns – small mounds of stones stacked as landmarks or art objects. This idea is reflected in soft curves and stacked-looking forms that give each piece a sculptural presence. At the same time, the practical everyday use of all products is paramount.

Carbonized ash wood as a base

Cairn products are crafted from FSC-certified, solid ash wood. The carbonized finish gives the wood a dark, warm hue and accentuates the natural grain. It also makes the wood more resistant to moisture and wear. As a result, each piece has a slightly different look and retains its handcrafted character.
