WOOL If wool rugs are exposed to direct sunlight, they can discolor or fade. Therefore, it is important to rotate the rug regularly to maintain an even color. Do not pull loose ends from the rug; instead, trim them with scissors. Wool is a natural material that is both durable and stain-resistant. During the first few weeks, the rug will usually shed excess wool fibers, which is completely normal. To prevent dirt from settling into the rug and damaging it, a wool rug should be vacuumed regularly, ideally once a week. Vacuum carefully and use a flat nozzle. A rug pad will hold it in place and protect it from wear and tear. Remove stains immediately. Do not rub, but gently absorb with a cloth. If the stain has already set in, use a cloth and hot water with a mild detergent. Try to work carefully from the outer edges toward the center of the stain. For best results, professional cleaning is recommended. Wool rugs should not be dry cleaned.
