The Artiko sofa from Mdd brings a well-thought-out connection concept to public spaces and spacious living areas. The name comes from Esperanto and means "connection"—a principle reflected in its modular design. BauThe modules with backrests can be arranged to create seating areas on both sides, resulting in a double-sided sofa that can separate or connect rooms.

Construction and materials

The backrest consists of a chipboard frame with upholstered cut-face foam with a density of 35 kg/m³. The seat is also built on a chipboard frame, supplemented by a type A wave spring and 110 mm thick upholstered cut-face foam of the same density. The seat is made of 16 mm lacquered MDF in the same color as the frame, which itself is made of 18 mm thick powder-coated metal. The maximum load capacity is 120 kg per seat.

Functionality for public spaces

The double-sided sofa is ideal for large offices, hotel lobbies, waiting rooms, train and airport concourses, and shopping centers. The optional M071 media box is available in black or white and features a 230V power outlet as well as one USB-A and one USB-C charging port. Tables can be attached to the seat joints to create additional workspace.
