The design of the Colu Basket is inspired by the timeless elegance of Roman columns. The rhythmic repetition of hollowed-out arches, which flow seamlessly into the integrated handles, gives the basket a unique aesthetic. Baptiste Vandaele explains: “With Colu, I wanted to challenge basic forms, imbue them with a sense of rhythm and tactility, while maintaining practicality.”

The Colu Basket is made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) felt, a material derived from used plastic bottles. These bottles are extruded into soft fibers and pressed into a robust felt material. The result is a lightweight yet durable basket that meets the demands of everyday life.

Colu Basket is made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) felt, made from used plastic bottles that are extruded into soft fibers and pressed into a felt material.

Avoid rubbing the surface, as this could damage the material or cause excessive pilling. Allow the surface to air dry naturally. We recommend using professional cleaning products to clean the PET felt surface. However, we recommend testing these cleaning products on an inconspicuous area first. To avoid damage to the material, it is recommended to keep the product away from heat sources such as heaters, fireplaces, and hair dryers.
