No two stones look alike. Marble is a delicate and porous material that is sensitive to liquids, moisture, and dirt. Therefore, you must pay special attention to how you use and care for the stone. We recommend treating the marble with "Protect Marble & Stone" by Leather Master. Another alternative is to apply a thin layer of paraffin/white oil to the tabletop. Let the oil soak in for a while, then wipe it off and polish it. For daily care, clean with a damp, soft cloth and regular soapy water. Any spills must be wiped up immediately. Wiping with just a tea towel and tap water may leave small water spots when they dry. Acidic limescale solvents will corrode marble, as it is made of limestone. Wine and lemon are liquids that are also acidic and will corrode marble. STEEL Remember that steel is a material that can rust if exposed to water and moisture for long periods. Paint or another coating is what keeps rust at bay, so it is important not to damage the coating. Solvents should not be used on painted or varnished steel, as this will dissolve the surface and expose it to rust. For daily care, clean with a soft cloth and soapy water.
