STEEL Keep in mind that steel is a material that can rust if exposed to water and moisture for extended periods. Paint or other finishing treatments are what keep rust away, so it's important not to damage the coating. Solvents should not be used on painted or varnished steel, as this will dissolve the surface and expose it to rust. For daily maintenance, clean with a soft cloth and soapy water.
