The Hyg chair with its grey upholstered front and grey steel frame is a standout piece of furniture from Normann Copenhagen's Hyg series. Designed by Simon Legald, this chair is an homage to the Danish concept of hygge – a feeling of coziness, warmth, and comfort.

Design and inspiration

Simon Legald drew inspiration for the Hyg series from the soft lines and enveloping contours that create an intimate and cozy space. The series was first launched in 2018 and initially comprised a two-seater sofa, an armchair, and a footstool. In 2020, the collection was expanded to include a chair and a bar stool, all of which retain the lounge series' signature features: organic curves and exceptional comfort.
