The Hyg Chair Oak Grey from Normann Copenhagen is a MeisterA work of Danish design, designed by Simon Legald. Inspired by the Danish lifestyle philosophy of Hygge, this chair combines soft lines and enveloping contours to create a sense of intimacy and coziness. The Hyg series was first introduced in 2018 and included a two-seater sofa, armchair, and footstool. In 2020, the series was expanded to include the Hyg chair and a bar stool, both of which retain the signature features of the lounge series.

The Hyg chair is characterized by its organic curves and carefully crafted shell made of high-strength polypropylene, which is mounted on a wooden base with four screws and cups. The philosophy behind the Hyg chair

Simon Legald explains: "People sitting together, having deep conversations, and eating together – that, for me, is the epitome of hygge. It therefore made sense that the Hyg series would also provide a framework for this kind of experience. The feeling of hygge isn't just linked to the visual experience of the design – it encompasses the entire sensory spectrum. Intensive work went into designing the chair to provide rest and support for the body – so that it's simply comfortable to sit in."
