Pap bookshelf extension by Normann Copenhagen

The Pap Bookshelf Extension from Normann Copenhagen Expand your existing Pap shelving unit with additional, flexible storage space. Designed by industrial designer Tetsu Schokking, this modular shelving system combines a minimalist design with an exceptional material concept, making it the perfect solution for living rooms, studies, offices, or creative environments where both organization and character are essential.

Recycled material with a distinctive surface

The shelving units consist of innovative panels made from discarded food cartons, such as milk cartons and other composite packaging. Instead of being incinerated, these materials are given a new life. The cartons are coarsely shredded, leaving individual fragments of the original packaging visible on the surface. During the manufacturing process, the existing plastic layers melt and act as a natural binder – entirely without additional chemicals.

This creates a warm, tactilely interesting, and expressive material. Each panel has subtle variations in color, texture, and pattern. This makes every Pap bookcase extension a unique piece of furniture that nevertheless maintains a calm and harmonious overall effect.
