WICKER Wicker is an incredibly rewarding material that requires little maintenance to stay in good condition. The material is UV-resistant and can withstand weather and wind. It is important to note that wicker is made of plastic and therefore behaves accordingly – it expands and contracts depending on the temperature. Wicker will expand and become loose when it is warm, but then contract again when it gets colder. For daily care, clean the furniture with a soft brush, a mild detergent, and plenty of water to Staub and dirt away from the fibers of the material. Protect your furniture with a furniture cover when not in use to prevent dirt and discoloration. Winter storage should be in a cool and dry place. Clean the furniture, sand it with very fine sandpaper (240) if necessary, and then use a cloth to apply a thin layer of oil. It is very important that no dirt or Staub trapped beneath the oil, as this can cause mold. Use a dry cloth to remove any excess oil from the wood. This process should be repeated every year, just before the furniture is placed in the garden in summer. The furniture should not be stored in a damp location, as this can cause mold. We recommend using a suitable cover to prevent damage from severe weather conditions. For winter storage, the furniture should not be stored in a centrally heated area, as this can cause the wood to dry out, leading to shrinkage and cracking. A cool, well-ventilated garden shed is a suitable storage location. Never cover the furniture with protective film, as this can cause mold. After prolonged use and/or the wood has dried out, it may be necessary to retighten the screws (with moderate force).
